Una Boccata d’Arte is promoted by Fondazione Elpis in collaboration with Galleria Continua and with the participation of Threes. Established in 2020 during the pandemic, the initiative aimed to give a strong signal of encouragement at a time of great uncertainty by promoting encounters between contemporary art practices and places far off the well-known tourist track.

A project by
Fondazione Elpis

Founded in 2020 by Marina Nissim, entrepreneur and collector, the core of Fondazione Elpis’ mission is the support of young artists. The Fondazione pursues its objectives through the production of exhibitions, residencies, educational activities and projects all over the country. With the aim of involving different audiences and exploring geographical areas outside traditional art circuits, Fondazione Elpis unites worlds that are only apparently distant by intercepting the evolution of expressive languages. The decision to open a new headquarters in Milan – in October 2022 – stems from the projects and collaborations activated in recent years on a national scale. The Fondazione has thus consolidated an ever-widening network, implementing new models of participation and cultural fruition.

In collaboration with
Galleria Continua

Galleria Continua was founded in 1990 on the initiative of three friends, Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi and Maurizio Rigillo.

It found its home in the spaces of a former cinema in the historically rich village of San Gimignano, and to date has eight locations around the world. It is the first foreign gallery with an international program to open in Beijing, China in 2004, and in 2007 in Les Moulins, in the Parisian countryside. In 2015 it opened a space in Havana, Cuba, dedicated to cultural projects aimed at transcending all borders. In 2020, his 30th anniversary year, he opens a new exhibition venue in Rome with a calendar of educational activities and artist residencies, and a space in São Paulo, Brazil, inside the Pacaembu Stadium. In 2021, he opens a new gallery in Paris, in the heart of the Marais, and in the same year, an exhibition space inside the world's most iconic hotel, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai.

With the participation of
Threes

Threes, curatorial team and creative agency based in Milan, focuses its practice on projects that intersect sound, art and landscape. Threes’ main project is Terraforma, an international festival which - since 2014 - takes place in Villa Arconati’s park, on the outskirts of Milan, developing a programme of musical experimentation with attention to environmental sustainability. Since the first edition of Una Boccata d'Arte, Threes has been selecting artists and curating the projects in three regions; for the 2023 edition in Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont and Lombardy.
