"Andreis is a dynamic system of relationships, in which its inhabitants are in constant dialogue with the landscape. The work follows these interweavings and brings to the surface their stratification—human, animal, and geological—as a single fabric of relations."

Caterina Gobbi’s project takes shape through the observation of the landscape of Andreis,
understood as an interweaving of natural, geological, and cultural dimensions. Marked by
the Periadriatic fault and the presence of the wildlife rescue center, the territory emerges as
a space of continuous relationship between humans and animals, crossed by practices and
narratives that amplify its metamorphic dimension. The intervention explores the
permeability of these boundaries, offering the image of a living, ever-changing landscape.
The project unfolds through two dispersed sculptures: the first, made of kiln-cast glass, acts as an optical device that filters and stratifies the perception of the landscape; the second, realized in neon, presents verses by the local poet Federico Pavan within the space of the Church of San Daniele. These are accompanied by a sound component developed with Sara Persico, which reworks the calls and communicative behaviors used by birds of prey, transforming them into a gesture of care and listening directed toward the injured birds hosted by the wildlife rescue center.

Borgo
Andreis (PN)

In Andreis, tradition, poetry, and nature inhabit the landscape. Famous for its Daltz—typical houses characterized by dark wooden balconies—the village is dotted with the verses of Federico Tavan, a visionary local poet.
Andreis lies within the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park, which also hosts a well-known rescue center for injured birds of prey in its avian area, and serves as the starting point for numerous hikes and walks.
Not far from the village center, the landscape reveals the geological features of the area: the gorge of the Susaibes stream traces the Barcis–Staro Selo tectonic line, which has created a series of faults that prevent vegetation from taking root.
The territory also includes the Forra del Torrente Cellina Nature Reserve, a canyon formed by steep carbonate rock walls plunging into crystal-clear waters.
